Pisces Pet Exotica Emporium is Calgary’s largest independent pet store. They were looking for a dynamic new website that matched their incredible in-store experience, and bring their large catalog of products online with a custom e-commerce system.

One of the goals of bringing a new website online was to get it up quickly, but also ensure that their products could be showcased in a way that was manageable by their staff. We went over many content management systems, and decided and custom system was the way to go.

Their custom system allows them to control which products are visible to the public, to set prices that match their in-store sales, and to create separate sales and specials that were manageable and customizable on the fly. We created for them a way to control all these aspects of product management, while still making it user friendly to invite browsing customers the chance to see what makes Pisces Pet Emporium the best per store in town.

Their Custom CMS allows them to do many different things, and we’re still building on it to add any and all features the client can think of. Here’s just a few things their custom CMS can do:

  • Create and manage all types of content. They have a blog built in that is built on top of TinyMCE’s WYSIWYG ( What You See Is What You Get) content control system.
  • Upload and manage images, PDF’s, and CSV files for their website’s ad’s and products.
  • A custom system to allow full control over their products, including pricing and sales.
  • A ‘group’ and ‘special’ system so they can put multiple products into groups online, and set a percentage or set dollar amount off.

Their CMS is a complete control system for everything to do with their website. They also have an incredible membership system that allows visitors to interact with the staff by writing reviews of their products online, creating a printable wishlist and favorite product’s list.
